Leopard print, hot pink and sparkles. Mini Lipsy giveaway. (closed)

As you perhaps could tell from my last post, I love animal print but mostly leopard print.
I'm always excited when I find something in leopard print.
I also love hot pink and sparkles. So I love finding items with one of these three things on them.

I was thrilled to find the top that I was wearing today on a carboot sale for 1 euro. It has all three things in it, even though the sparkles are hard to see on these pictures.

I'm wearing it with a denim skirt and black shiny (leather look) leggings

That's also why I'm still in love with the Lipsy bag I bought last year, which has all three combined in one bag.

I actually exchanged my bag with a new one that I bought as a spare because I loved the bag so much. The old one still needs to go in the washing machine but for now I 'm enjoying the new one.
It a comes with a purse which is also in leopard print and pink but it misses the sparkles.
I have a new purse as well to replace my purse but have decided that it would be nice to give this away to one of my readers. This purse is from Lipsy London by AVON as mentioned in this post.

So I'm hosting a little giveaway.

To join in the give away you have to be or become a follower of my blog and comment on this post by answering one of the following questions :
Is there any item in your wardrobe (clothes, shoes, bags) that you can't get over ?
Do you have a love for certain patterns or colors ?

Please use the raffle copter to enter.
The give away is open worldwide.

I will choose a winner in 4 weeks.

Good luck !

Fashion Friday Kids; Tutu's and animal print

My littlest of little girls is a little fashionista. She knows what she wants and sometimes when I pick something out for her to wear, she walks to the closet, opens the door and then stands in front of it to choose another outfit for the day. She loves skirts and dresses. As mentioned in another post she often doesn’t want to wear anything else and calls most skirts and dresses ‘ballerina’.
Her favourite skirts are the tutu’s.

When I had to choose an outfit for her 2nd birthday in February, I looked online on the website of H&M and found a cute dress with animal print. I decided to get it in the shop and make up an outfit by adding a pink tutu to it. I loved it and she loved it as well.

The birthday outfit

In the new class room for 2-3 year olds in church

With big sisters in the church lounge

Playing with new toys
Because I love animal prints and she loved the tutu so much I couldn’t resist an outfit I found on Zulily. The biggest size that they had left was a 24 months and I guess it is a bit small fitting or Nevaeh is just a bit big so it is a bit on the small side but she loves this outfit and whenever she sees this skirt, she wants to put it on straight away.
This skirt is a different type. Quite short and came with leggings. I love the pink shiny ribbons on the top.
Trying out the brandnew outfit

From the back
She loves tutu’s so much that she even wants to sleep in them sometimes. So I might try to make up a pj with a tutu on it. I actually got a tutu on a carboot sale which she is allowed to wear at home and sleep in.
I’m looking for more second hand tutu’s so she has a few to wear at home.

Because of Nevaehs love for tutu’s I was very interested when I saw this cute swimsuit with tutu on the blog Pillow thought.I googled some and found a similar one online. I think that they are really gorgeous.

Found on

Hopefully they are shipping to Ireland as well and then my little girl can be happy wearing a swimsuit with tutu or I’ll have to try and make my own version one day.

What do you think of tutu’s ? Do you have a little fashionista as well ? Or actually just a kid who knows what he/she likes and wants to wear ?

The present of life

It 's Friday again and that means that it's time for another Five minute Friday post.

Today we are writing about : Present

I love presents. Apparently, receiving gifts is one of the 5 love languages and I must say that what I love about it is that it makes you feel special, loved.
So I guess I can agree that it is a love language. It’s nice and loving that someone thought about you and wanted to give you something. In that way they show that they care about you, appreciate you, that you mean something to them.

It makes me think about the presents that God gives. The God Who loves us so much that He gave His only Son to us , to die on the Cross for us, so that we can be saved and live eternally (go to heaven) .
A God Who is love and gave us the gift of life together with a  plan that we are supposed to follow if we want to be truly happy.
Today as we live our lives let us remember Him Who loves us so much, Who gives so freely of all that we need.
Let us honor Him with our lives, let us live lives of gratitude and let us pour out our lives for those in need. Let’s choose a life that glorifies Him !

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NIV

Here is how.

 1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2.  Link back to the blog post of Lisa-Jo Baker and invite others to join in.
3. Comment on the blog post of the person who linked up just before you.

Testimony Thursday: Back to school part 2

Most of this post was written a while ago before my laptop broke. I initially wrote it as an assignment for one of the Childcare modules that I did and since it is a few months ago now, I had to edit it.

When my oldest daughter Ixora was a toddler of one years old, we spent a few months in Suriname (South America) , where Ixora’s dad was born and where my parents are originally from. I had planned to start working again when we would return to Holland so I decided that it would be a good idea to put her in a crèche or playschool in Suriname in the mornings, so she would get used to going to such a place. We went to a lot of different places but it was hard to find a place that met all my expectations.
The people who owned the childcare centres all had great intentions but every time I missed something. I also noticed that a lot of childcare workers didn’t have any qualifications to work in childcare as this apparently wasn’t required there.

In the end, I found a play school that has most of what I was looking for and my daughter ended up having a great time there. But in my heart something was born: a dream, a desire. One day, I was going to start my own childcare centre and it would exactly be how I thought that it should be. I decided that one day I would go back and start that childcare centre there, but that I wouldn’t do it without getting training first because I wanted to be fully equipped when I started one.

Six years ( and two more children ) later  (and now living in Ireland)  I was advised to try to get a place for a free course. I would then be able to get free childcare and this would benefit my second daughter Yovannah who seemed to be a bit behind with her language skills. I had decided that I was going to choose ECDL because that would suit me the best. The work that I had been doing so far had an administrative nature. Getting more knowledge of computer programmes would’ve been very beneficial for me if I’d go back to work one day.

I went to the Open day to sign up for an ECDL course but I remembered that someone mentioned that there was a childcare course available as well and since I always wanted to do a childcare course’ one day’ , it somehow clicked inside and I decided to sign up for that as well. A few days later I received a phone call. They offered me a place on the childcare course. I was delighted that I got in and excited to learn something new.

So I started in September 2011 and finished at the end of last year.  It was a great and life changing experience. I started in the (free) morning class first but after a few months, I switched to an evening class ( fee paying), so I could finish earlier. It was a challenge to work on the assignments and exams but by the grace of God I have managed to do it and have been successful in finishing it.
The course was actually a two year course but because of the changes in FETAC we had to do two years in one which meant that we had to do more work than normal.
But by the grace of God I completed everything on time and managed to get full distinctions for all 8 modules. I now have the full award Childcare FETAC level 5 and am qualified to work as a childcare worker. Glory to God ! I’m grateful to God for putting this in my heart and guiding me in doing this training and I’m looking forward to what is yet to come.

In the past months I have done a lot of work experience in childcare centres and I know now that I would like to have a Montessori preschool. I love working with kids and imparting knowledge to them.
I applied to go to college in the fall and have been offered a place for the Montessori Diploma, a one year course. Glory to God !

I want to get more training so I can offer the children in my care more and with Gods grace I’m going to do what I decided to do in my heart all those years ago.
I’m going to get the qualifications that I need and I'm going to start my own childcare centre.

Be encouraged that it’s never too late to learn something new, even if you’re like me, a mum with three children of which two were under four years old when I did the childcare course.
If your dream is from God, He will make a way and lead it so that it will come to pass.

Don’t ever give up on your dreams. Follow your heart.
You are created and designed for great things.
Even though it is such a privilege and blessing to be a mum and our role as a mum is very rewarding, it doesn’t have to end there.

We are more than just mums…

So go for it, follow your dream.

I know I will. (by Gods grace)

Everyone of them….

Worship Wednesday : At the Cross.

Today I want to share a youtube video from another song that I love and which is really blessing me a lot lately.

It is : At the Cross.

It really touches my heart and brings me closer to God when I sing it with all my heart.

I hope that you are blessed by it too.

Let us worship God in spirit and truth.

John 4:24

God is spirit and those who worship Him must worship in truth and spirit.

Today as you listen to this song, worship Him with all your heart and enter into His presence.
The bible says that in His presence there is fullness of joy.(Psalm 16:11) In His presence there is provision for everything that we need. So step into His presence.
The bible says : If you draw near to God, He will draw near to you. (James 4:8)
I pray that while you sing this song with all your heart, it will bring you closer to God.

Enjoy and worship Him with me today !

Which worship song blesses you extra lately ? Which song do you have in your mind/ on your heart a lot ?
Please share.

Have a blessed day.

Sunday Social : Trips

A little late because it is here 00.22 but here is my Sunday Social post of this week.

1 What is the best trip you’ve ever been on?

Balaton lake in Hungary. I initially went to Hungary with a friend but she had to return home because of work and I had an open ticket and couldn’t get a return date for longer than a week so I did some more things in Hungary on my own and ended up going to the Balaton lake where I had a great time.
I visited a lot of great places around the Balaton lake. I love the look of the green water.
It was great being on my own and I remember that I had a lot of special times with God as well, sitting on the beach at night, experiencing His presence.

2. What is your best idea for a girls weekend trip?

London. Shopping, having tea at a terrace, getting hair done at hair salon, getting nails done, spa, fashion show, concert or girls ‘ conference.

3. What is your best idea for a couples trip?

Paris. This city is really a romantic place to go to.
It’s so beautiful in the night. Especially the Eiffel tower is breathtaking.

4. Best vacation on the cheap.

Going to a camping close to where you live. Hopefully with great weather. Staying in a tent in the rain is not so great. (Been there, done that !)

5. What is the place you most want to visit?

US Florida. I’ve never been to the US before and I would love to go to Disney World with the kids.

Hopefully next year!

Testimony Thursday: When God steps in.

Last week on Friday was the last day of school. The evening before, we had gone to the Carboot sale, to see if we could find some items for the bedrooms for the girls, because we are doing their rooms at the moment.
I had said: 'we are not getting any soft toys', since you can always get those quite cheap and they keep getting these and they already have a lot of them.
Still, while we were looking around in the rain, my 8 year old, Ixora, found a puppy that she wanted to have and I decided to let her get it, because she really seemed to want it.

So when I collected Ixora from school she had the puppy in her hand. Apparently, she had taken it to school with her to show her friends. While we were walking to the car, one of the boys from her class dropped a bunch of school books that he was holding in his hands, on the floor. He didn’t bring a school bag on the last school day and he had a ball with him. His mother had his toddler brother on her arm and said : 'I can’t help you.' So I decided to pick up his books and walk with them to their car.
They were very grateful. While I was picking up books, Ixora got a few books as well and she walked with me to the car, where we handed the books to the boy. Then we walked back to our car.
Ixora’s dad drove off even though she was asking him to wait. Only later we found out why. Her puppy was missing, even though she claimed that she had it in her hand when she stepped in the car. Her dad said that he didn’t see her with it. She was silently sitting in the back of the car, tears falling on her face and it broke my heart when I saw her like that.

We were on our way to town to exchange a tablet that stopped working and as soon as we parked the car, Ixora and I searched the car all over. But the puppy was no where to be found.
I concluded that she must’ve dropped it when she stepped in to the car if she really still had it in her hands when we arrived at the car. She was so sad. I told her to pray and ask God to find it again.
So we went back to the street of school to look if we could find it. I said a quick prayer : 'God if it’s Your will, please let us find the soft toy back.' When we arrived at the street of the school there was no puppy to be found on the street. I looked around but if the puppy had fallen there, it was now gone. If it really wasn't in the car, then it must've fallen in the street and someone else had picked up. So we drove back home and searched the car again over and over. Ixora was heart broken. She kept crying and I could see how heartbroken she was from the way she was breathing.
One of the hardest things about motherhood is that apart from sharing in the joy of your children you get to share in their pain as well, sometimes so strongly as if it is your own pain. I tried to deny it and to think : it’s not my puppy that’s lost. But I identified with her so much. My heart broke and I decided to pray a different prayer. I ‘ve been in situations before where I can’t find something and then I call out to God in faith with all my heart and then He shows me how graceful, how good , how loving and how faithful He is and then I find it back.
This time it wasn’t really for me, but it was for my child whom I love. I felt helpless, since I couldn’t bring her puppy back and I also couldn’t do anything to comfort her even though I tried. (She just got a brand new tablet but she didn’t seem to care) And my heart broke because she was so sad. All I could to do was pray.
And so I did. I really prayed in faith this time.
I asked God to let us find the puppy back. I asked Him to glorify Himself and to show Ixora how good and faithful He is and that He is a God Who answers prayers.
Then I asked her to come with me to the school and we walked together and I prayed together with her that God would let us find the puppy back. We weren’t really sure if there would be anyone left at the school but we went anyway. The side door was open and we walked in, past her old class room where her teacher was sitting –but she didn’t notice us- and we went in to the office. There was no one. I also didn’t see a puppy on the desk and told Ixora maybe someone from your class found it and will give it back when school starts again.
We stood there for awhile and then someone came in and we told her the story. She said that it hadn’t been handed in but maybe Ixora could look in her class room and I said 'I don’t think that it is there.' Then she asked Ixora ‘Do you want to go look in your class room? It hasn’t been handed in here.’

Ixora said ‘yes and even though I didn’t think it could be there, we went anyway.
The teacher looked up when we stopped at the door and said Hello.‘Ixora lost her toy,’ I explained. And then she said :’ Oh’, and she seemed to remember something. She reached for something while she said ;’Someone handed this in ‘ And there in her hand …..was the puppy.  Glory to God !!

I knew we would find it but I didn’t know it would be found on the same day and in her class room.  God is good ! He really glorified Himself. I was glad that He helped me to teach my oldest daughter that He is faithful and that He answers prayers. I was happy to have my daughter smiling again and rejoicing about the end of school year. I pointed out Gods goodness and faithfulness to her and how much He deserves that we give Him our best. And we glorified, thanked and praised God for what He had done.

Do you have a testimony to share this week ?

Please share by commenting on this post or leave the url of your blogpost in the comments.

Be blessed ! And don't forget: God is a God Who answers prayers, even the smaller requests.
Trust Him and He won't let you down.

Increase our faith Lord and glorify Yourself . Glory to Your Most High Name !

Love and blessings,
